What this kundali generator gives you

A kundali, or janma patrika, is a map of the sky at the moment and place you were born. This tool works it out from your date, time and birth place, and builds a full report of around 100 printed pages that you can read on screen or save as a PDF. It is free, needs no account, and there is no limit on how many charts you can cast.

The whole report is available in English or Nepali. Use the language selector above the form; switching it rewrites the entire report instantly, without recalculating anything, so you can generate once and read in either language.

Everything is calculated in your own browser. Your birth details are never sent to this site or anywhere else, are not stored, and are gone the moment you close the tab. For information as personal as a birth time, that seemed like the right way to build it.

What the report contains

The report runs to about a hundred chapters, each on its own page when printed. In outline:

• Birth details and panchanga — vara, tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana at the moment of birth.
• Eight charts — the lagna chart (D1) and navamsa (D9), plus the hora, drekkana, chaturthamsa, saptamsa, dashamsa and dwadashamsa divisions, each drawn in the North Indian diamond style with its own lagna and placement table.
• Planetary positions — sidereal longitude, sign, exact degree, house, nakshatra with pada, sign lord and dignity for all nine grahas plus the ascendant, with retrograde marked.
• A chapter for every graha — nine chapters covering what each planet signifies, the sign and house it occupies, its dignity, its nakshatra, the houses it rules and what its condition implies.
• A chapter for every house — twelve chapters on the sign, lord, occupants and traditional themes of each bhava.
• A chapter for every house lord — twelve more on where each bhavesh sits and which two areas of life that links.
• Nakshatra chapters — a full profile of the janma nakshatra with symbol, deity, gana, nadi, yoni and name syllables, then one chapter per planet for the nakshatra it occupies.
• Vimshottari dasha in depth — the whole 120-year sequence, then a chapter per mahadasha with its nine antardashas dated, and a further nine chapters narrating each sub-period.
• Nine life areas — education, career, wealth, marriage, children, health, foreign travel, siblings and property, each read through its houses and karakas.
• Aspects, yogas and sade sati — a drishti table, the classical combinations found in your chart, and where Saturn stood relative to your Moon.
• Traditional remedies — one chapter per planet with the day, recitation, gemstone and charity recorded in practice, noting whether that planet actually needs support in your chart.
• Glossary and reading notes — the terms used, and a plain statement of what the report does and does not claim.

How to use it

1. Enter your date of birth and your time of birth as exactly as you can.
2. Start typing your birth place and pick it from the list. You can type in Nepali or in English, so both काठमाडौँ Und kathmandu will find it.
3. If your birth place is not listed, open Enter coordinates manually and type the latitude, longitude and time zone.
4. Choose English or Nepali in the language selector. You can change it at any time, including after the report is generated.
5. Press Generate Kundali. The report appears straight away.
6. Press Download PDF to save or print it. Your browser will offer "Save as PDF" as the destination.

Why the birth time matters so much

The ascendant moves through a full sign in roughly two hours, so it changes about every two minutes of arc. A birth time that is out by ten minutes can leave the planets almost untouched while shifting the ascendant, and with it every house in the chart. If you only know the approximate time, treat the house positions as provisional; the planetary signs and the nakshatra of the Moon will still be reliable.

Time zone matters just as much. Nepal only adopted its present UTC +5:45 offset on 1 January 1986; before that it used +5:30, and before 1920 Kathmandu local mean time. This tool applies the correct historical offset automatically for Nepali birth places, which is a detail many free calculators get wrong.

How the calculations are done

Positions come from a modern astronomical ephemeris running in your browser, converted to sidereal longitudes with the Lahiri ayanamsa, which is the standard used across Nepal and India. Houses use the whole sign system, and the dasha sequence is standard Vimshottari reckoned from the Moon’s nakshatra.

The output has been checked against a Swiss Ephemeris desktop program across birth charts in four countries. Planetary longitudes agree to within 0.4 arc-minutes, the ascendant to within 0.3 arc-minutes, and the ayanamsa to a small fraction of an arc-second. Every nakshatra, pada, retrograde flag and dasha lord matched exactly. For reference, a single nakshatra pada spans 200 arc-minutes, so the difference is far smaller than anything that would change a reading.

Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no email address, no trial and no payment. Because the whole thing runs in your browser there is no server cost per chart, so there is nothing to charge for and no reason to limit how many you cast.

Are my birth details stored anywhere?

No. The calculation happens on your own device and nothing is transmitted. There is no database of birth details behind this page, because no birth detail ever reaches the site.

How do I save it as a PDF?

Press Download PDF and choose "Save as PDF" as the destination in the dialog your browser opens. Going through the browser’s own print engine keeps the text sharp and selectable, and keeps Devanagari rendering correctly, which a picture of the page would not.

Can I read it in Nepali?

Yes. The entire report — every chapter, table and sentence — is available in Nepali as well as English, and the selector switches between them instantly. The Nepali text is not a machine translation: the astrological vocabulary comes from a Nepali jyotish program, so it reads in the terms a Nepali reader expects.

How long is the report?

Around a hundred pages when printed, because each chapter starts on a fresh page. Roughly forty of those are tables of computed positions and dates; the rest is written interpretation composed from your specific placements. It is not padded with generic filler, but nor is it a substitute for a reading by an astrologer who can weigh the whole chart at once.

Which ayanamsa and house system does it use?

Lahiri ayanamsa and whole sign houses, which together are the usual combination in Nepali and North Indian practice. Planetary positions are sidereal, not tropical.

What if I do not know my exact birth time?

Enter your best estimate. The Moon’s sign and nakshatra, and therefore your dasha sequence, stay dependable across a fairly wide window. The ascendant and the houses do not, so read those with caution until you can confirm the time from a birth record.

Can it cast charts for any country?

Yes. The place list covers all 77 districts of Nepal along with major cities worldwide, and anywhere else can be entered with its coordinates. Dates from 1800 to 2100 are supported.

Does it predict my future?

No, and it does not try to. It calculates the chart accurately and shows the classical attributions for each placement. What those placements mean for a life is a matter of interpretation, and belongs with an astrologer rather than a web page.
